Robert C. “Ting” Taylor
Carrollton, Michigan


Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Ascension St. Mays Medical Center. Age 82 years. Son of the late Clark and Laura (Luplow) Taylor, Robert was born April 23, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. He married Ellen C. Taub in 1962. She survives him. Ting was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear Plant #5 for 31 years. He was a member of St. John Paul II Parish. Robert enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, music and dancing and loved family gatherings at his pool.


Surviving besides his wife Ellen are one son and one daughter, Brian and Karen Taylor and Sarah Taylor; two granddaughters, Melanie and Justin Szczepanski, Rene Taylor and special friend Nathanial Fries and Brenna Dressler, whom he considered his third granddaughter; three sisters and one brother, Ginger Taylor, Carolyn Balzer, Dale and Lynn Taylor, Laurie and Michael Guttowsky; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Robert was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery; his brother, Gary Taylor; his sister, Bette and Ken Burgess; a brother-in-law, Henry Balzer; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bertha and Clare Taub.


Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday , February 3, 2021 at St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Steven M. Gavit will officiate with Military Services conducted by V.F.W. Post # 1859. Honoring Mr. Taylor’s wishes cremation will follow with burial of cremains on Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.,(between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. at the church on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, the limitations of number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Alzheimer’s Association.

My condolences to the all who knew him. He was such a big part of all the neighborhood kids lives. I wish I could be there to pay my respects.
