Obituary

William V. Loiacano,

Saginaw, Michigan.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his home surrounded by all his family. Age 94 years. Son of the late Sam and Rose (Parisi) Loiacano, William was born August 18, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Esther R. Felice, his loving wife of 70 years on June 10, 1950. She survives him. Bill was employed at General Motors, and after retirement, he enjoyed working with his son Nick at the Cornerstone Grocer. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Bill was a kind, caring man and was respected and loved by all that knew him.

Surviving besides his wife Esther are six children, Nick Loiacano, Bridgeport; Rosemary (John) Hospodar, East Lansing; Ann (Terry) Schulte, Florida; Sam Loiacano, Saginaw; Phil Loiacano, Auburn; William (Pamela) Loiacano, Frankenmuth; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Philip (Dolores) Loiacano, James (Sally) Loiacano; and his sister, Sarah (Joseph) DiMambro.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Andrew Mausoleum with Military Services conducted by V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. No Vigil Service will take place due to COVID. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, the limitation of number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Compassus Hospice, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.
