William E. Rousseau
St. Charles, Michigan
Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Age74 years. The son of the late Felix and Marion (Countegan) Rousseau, William was born December 29, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan. William received the Purple Heart while serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969 with the 199th Light Infantry. He married Kathleen Ilgen on June 27, 1970. She survives him. William was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear from 1965 to 2006. He was a Sgt. for the Saginaw County Sheriff Posse from 1975 to 2015 and member of Chapter X Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. William was also a member of St. John XXIII Parish, Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed horses and Harley motorcycles.


Surviving besides his wife Kathy are one daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Smith, Saginaw Twp.; three sons, Scott W. (Christie) Rousseau, Freeland; Ryan R. (Amanda) Rousseau, New Franken, Wisconsin; Eric L. (Rachel) Rousseau, Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Gunnar, Wyatt, Reagan and Cody; three sisters, Kay Ezop, Christine Benn, and Lisa Strasel; three brothers, David (Barb) Rousseau, Keith (Mary) Rousseau, Mark (Cheryl) Rousseau; several nieces and nephews.


Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at St. John XXIII Parish, 151 St. Mary’s Dr., Hemlock, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Michael Steltenkamp S.J. will officiate. Private burial with Military Honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, the limitations of number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
