Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Close to Home Assisted Living. Age 85 years. Son of the late Mayow and Mildred (Hinte) Gilson, William was born May 8, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. William married to Marva J. Terry on January 2, 1975. She survives him. He was the owner and operator of The New Image Salon. William was a member of the Elks Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving besides his wife Marva are one daughter, Kathi and William Fortier, St. Charles; two step-daughters, Joyce Quackenbush, Saginaw; Shirley and Ralph Leach, Saginaw; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Tom and Julie Gilson, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his son, Steven Gilson and one brother, Terry Gilson.
Honoring Mr. Gilson’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private Memorial Service will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Military Services conducted by V.F.W. Post #1859.
