William E. “Bill” Theaker

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Age 78 years. The son of the late Donovan and Exilda (LaFave) Theaker, Bill was born on September 22, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Dorothea Leiner on September 12, 1998. Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 until 1965. Following his time with the Marine Corps, Bill was employed as a machine repairman for Eaton Corporation for 35 years retiring in 2001. He is a life member of the V.F.W. Post #1859 where he volunteered countless hours on the Honor Guard. He is also an active member of American Legion Post #22 Riders Group, Fraternal Order of Eagles #497 and the Patriot Guard Riders. Bill loved being on his motorcycle, playing softball and playing poker with his brothers at the V.F.W.


Surviving are his wife Dorothea; his children, Tina (Robert) Cook, Gladwin; William G. Theaker, Christy (Gene McKinnie) Parent, Joseph Parent, JoAnn (Tony Cuellar) Elizalde, all of Saginaw; Tina and William’s mother, Estella Becerra; three grandchildren, Lindse (Ryan Moulton) Theaker, Dante (Madison) Parent and A’lyse McBride; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Dellah and Arabelle; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Alberta Leiner, Brenda Raymond, Jackie Bricault, Shirley (George Czeiszperger) Leiner, Jack Leiner, Arloa (Otto) Richter, Jerry Smith; two nieces, Lori and Becky; very dear friends, Otto Richter, Larry Bell and Warren and Rose Watkins. Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Gerald Theaker and Darlene (Robert) Haavisto; a brother-in-law, Albert Leiner; his sister-in-law, Judy Smith; his canine companion, Dody.


Honoring Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Mr. Hank Messing will officiate. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps and V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
