Obituary for Wendell Allen Stacy Jr.

Wendell Allen Stacy Jr. (44) of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

Wendell was born on May 3, 1978 to Wendell Stacy Sr. and Barbara (Johnson) Cecil. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1996 and was employed as a maintenance technician at Burger King, a subsidiary of Restaurant Brands International. Wendell was a reliable, loyal, hard worker who was loved by his co-workers and customers.

He is survived by two beloved children: Wendell Stacy III and Larissa Stacy; a grandson: Wendell Stacy IV; siblings: Thurston (Delfina) Stacy, Kristin (Shalona) Stacy, Darryl (Juanita) Johnson, Adrian Cecil, David Cecil; parents: Daniel and Barbara Cecil, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He will also be greatly missed by the special woman in his life, Shalawn Moore.

Wendell was preceded in death by his father: Wendell Stacy Sr.; grandparents: John Stacy Sr., Janice Stacy, and Gloria Johnson; uncles: Phillip Stacy, and John Stacy Jr.

Affectionately referred to as “Wink”, Wendell enjoyed life, was fun to be around, was very loving and generous; he had a heart of gold. His passion was collecting high-end sneakers, jerseys, and hats. Some of his favorite hobbies included fishing, cooking, playing and watching sports, and spending time with his little cockatiel bird, Magic.

Wendell expressed faith in God and the teachings of the Bible. His only religious affiliation over the years was with Jehovah’s Witnesses. He had an appreciation and respect for what he learned from the Bible and looked forward to its promises.
