Loving aunt, cousin and friend passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Center. Age 88 years. Daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Nowak) Dutkiewicz, Virginia was born April 17, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Arthur W. Engelke Sr. on February 6, 1960. He predeceased her May 23, 1989. Virginia was a nurse’s aide prior to her marriage to Arthur. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts and especially her family.
Surviving to cherish her memory are nieces, Pauline (Tim) Dorn, Linda Matuszewski, Doreen Gross; and very special cousins that helped her in her later years, Theresa Hozeska, Patrick and Barb Kowalski, and Vicky Godwin. Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Arthur Engelke Jr.; one brother, Daniel Dutkiewicz; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks her care givers at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Center.
Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Mrs. Sharon Wahl will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the charity of your choice.
