Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Thomas W. “Tom” Heck, passed away in the afternoon hours of Monday, November 7, 2022 at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 76 years. Tom was born on October 17, 1946 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late John D. and Maneta L. (Westrich) Heck; as a child his family moved from Pontiac to Alma, Michigan. He was a 1964 graduate of Alma High School. Following High School, Tom went on to attend Lansing Business University; before receiving a degree he was drafted to proudly serve his country as a member of the United State Army; where he served as a Tank Commander during the Vietnam War. As soon as he was discharged from the military, Tom came home and purchased his dream vehicle, a 69’ Corvette. On November 21, 1970 in St. Stephen Catholic Church Tom married the love of his life, Dianne M. Brandi, and she survives him. Tom retired from Standard Electric Co. as a Branch Manager for their Saginaw Location. Tom was an avid golfer; he played on numerous leagues around the area, but his most visited and consistent was Maple Hill Golf Club. Tom will be missed dearly by his favorite golf partner and brother-in-law, Al. Tom was a proud University of Michigan Football Fan. With his many joys in life, nothing brought Tom more happiness than the time he was able to spend with his family.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of almost 52 years, Dianne M. Heck; son and daughter-in-law, Matt (Teri) Heck; grandchildren, Claire Heck, John Heck, and Katelyn Morris; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Debi Maguire, Patti (Al) Fielder, and Mary (Bill Irvine) Brandi; special neighbor and family friend, George (Jackie) Lown; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tom is happily reunited with his parents, John D. and Maneta L (Westrich) Heck; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Evelyn Brandi; two sisters, Janet Heck and Jean Heck.

Tom’s family would like to extend a very special Thank You to Dr. Tobin & Dr. Fugazzi and staff, the staff of Mary Free Bed at Covenant, and the staff of SICU Cooper 7 RN Andrea, RN Andrew, SVSU RN Allison, and Dr. Nader for the extraordinary care and compassion provided to Tom and their family.

At the request of Thomas and his family, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. Saginaw, MI 48603 (Between McCarty and Shattuck Rds.). Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Richard John. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Following the celebration, Military Honors will be performed under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post 439 at the funeral home. Private Family Inurnment will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Covenant Kids”.
