Obituary for Steve Michael Worden

Steve Michael Worden
Zilwaukee, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 at his home. Age 79 years. The son of the late Clinton and Mary (Brown) Worden, Steve was born on March 8, 1943 in Bay City, Michigan. Steve proudly served in the United States Navy from 1961 until 1965. He married Judy Koski on October 14, 1989. She survives him. Steve was employed at General Motors for 30 years until his retirement in 1994. He was very musically inclined and sang in the State Street United Methodist Church Choir, Midland Men of Music and had the opportunity to travel to Europe several times with the Saginaw Valley State University choir. Steve also was a long time member and president (several times) of the Zilwaukee Lions Club and was honored to be Lion of the Year. Steve and Judy were very active in Youth For Understanding and are still “dad and mom” to several people around the world. Steve was also an avid bowler, sportsman, hunter and fisherman.


Surviving besides his wife Judy are their children, Karrie (Robert) Estes, Zilwaukee; Ted Worden, Bay City; Chris Worden, Bay City; Laurie (Barbara Roberts) Jacobs, St. Louis, Missouri; Janell Williams, Saginaw; Joel (Sara) Williams, Alexandria, Virginia; his grandchildren, Emmi (fiancé, Caleb Little) Estes, Roger (Susan) Estes, Anthony Worden, Domaniq Worden, Jessica La’ Framboise, Cole Worden, Willa Worden, Zach Roberts, Marcello Rios, Gabriel Rios and Zane Williams; three great-grandchildren; four brothers-in-law, Tom (Pam) Koski, Jim (MJ) Koski, Bill (Nancy) Koski and Don (Judy) Koski; many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his three siblings, Sam (Lorraine) Worden, Janelle (Cecil) Snyder and Mary (Dennis) Shank; his daughter-in-law, Shelly Worden.


Honoring Mr. Worden’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Zilwaukee Community Hall, 530 W. Fisher St. Military Honors will be rendered at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Zilwaukee Lions Club or Midland Men of Music.
