Sophia A. “Sophie” Luth,
Saginaw Twp., Michigan
Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at Ascension St. Mary’s Medical Center. Age 87 years. Daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Gosik) Zdrojkowski, Sophia was born August 29, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Charles H. Luth on May 28, 1955. He predeceased her May 14, 2015. Sophie had been employed as a part time receptionist for the Diocese of Saginaw. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, its Resurrection Choir, League of Catholic Women and was a Eucharistic Minister to Community Village and HealthSource Saginaw for 25 years. Sophie enjoyed crafts and especially making Christmas Ornaments and writing children’s books.
Surviving to cherish her memory are three sons and two daughters, Tom and Marianne Luth, Saginaw; Mike and Starr Luth, Tawas; Bob and Pam Luth, Saginaw; Kathy Heinz, Farwell; Julie and Leonard Lewis, Farwell; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Zdrojowski, Floyd and Joanne Zdrojkowski; many nieces and nephews. Sophie was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Carol Ann Luth and Mary Jo Luth; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Cecelia Luth; one sister and six brothers, Sally Sonnenberg, Chet Dork, Stanley Zdrojkowski, Joseph Dzrojkoski, John Drake, Frank Zdrojkowski and Louie Zdrojkowski.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 1,2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to American Cancer Society.
