Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Barton Woods Assisted Living. Age 90 years. The daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Frank) Brailey, Shirley was born on April 6, 1932 in Zilwaukee, Michigan. Shirley proudly served in the Women’s Auxiliary Unit – United States Army from 1953 – 1955. She had been employed for the Saginaw Board of Education for 35. She was a member of American Legion Post #439 and Peace Lutheran Church.
Surviving are three daughters and one son, Diane (Robert) Hollingsworth, Saginaw; Sandra Lobodzinski, Gladwin; Tommy Shields, Caro; JoAnne (Burt) St. Amour, Swartz Creek; her grandchildren, Monica (Tim) VanHoorelbeke, Sarah (Kelly) Hott, Ryan (Julia) Shields, Matt (Katie) Shields, Nathan (Jennifer) St. Amour and Amanda (Cody) Ling; eight great-grandchildren, Avynn, Aslynn, Mayze, Troy, Stone , A.J., Arlo, Isla, and Millie; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marilyn (Dick) Weiss. Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Pol and her brother, Perry Frank; her former husbands, Robert Dupuis, Toxie Shields, Lucien Pol, Jr. and David Boice.
Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army and American Legion Post #439. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Peace Lutheran Church.
