Obituary for Sharon Kay Leach

Sharon Kay Leach,
Spaulding Twp., Michigan.

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. Age 80 years. Daughter of the late Edward and Ellen (Luedtke) Brabant, Sharon was born December 10, 1942 on the Big Prairie farm in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a 1960 Graduate of Chesaning High School. Sharon married Richard E. “Dick” Leach Jr., her loving husband of 61 years, on February 11, 1961. He survives her. Sharon was employed at U.S. Graphite for 32 years, and a real estate agent. She was a very active member at First Presbyterian Church of Taymouth, Bridgeport Lions Club, Saginaw Business Women’s Association and in charge of entry admissions for the Saginaw Fair for many years. Sharon enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, baking, being a farmer’s wife, spending time at her cabin at Houghton Lake and especially her family.

Surviving besides her husband Dick are three sons, Rick and Renee Leach, Albee Twp.; Chuck and Julie Leach, Birch Run; Paul and Kim Leach, Frankenmuth; six grandchildren, Jason and Kelly Leach, Justin Leach, Brionna and Mikey Holbrook, Joshua Leach and his fiancé Rachel, Abbey and Blake Haskins, Meghan Leach; one great-grandson, Rowan Holbrook; one brother, Larry and BettyLou Brabant; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Paul Fortier, Ann Plater, Shirley Leach, Tom Girard; several nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by an infant brother, Leonard Brabant, one sister, BettyLou Girard, and a brother-in-law, Ralph Leach.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church of Taymouth, 12517 Morseville Rd, Birch Run, Michigan. Pastor Scott Kroener will officiate with burial in Spaulding Township Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to First Presbyterian Church of Taymouth, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Saginaw Fair.
