Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Sandra Joyce “Sandy” (Pedigo) Ruth, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center in St. Louis, Michigan. Age 86 years. Sandy was born on December 6, 1935 in Pocahontas, Virginia to the late John and Lillian (Greenup) Pedigo. Sandy played numerous roles during her lifetime, but nothing compared to the satisfaction she received from caring for her family and her home. On February 17, 1960 Sandy married the love of her life, Walter J. Ruth, Jr., and he preceded her in death on August 19, 2003. One of her favorite activities was attending Garden Club with her friends. Sandy also had a great love of traveling; her and her special friend, Nancy Benjamin, would visit a different location every year. With her many joys in life, Sandy’s family meant the absolute world to her; especially her grandchildren. Sandy will be missed dearly by all, and her memories cherished forever.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Alice (Jeff Koerschen) Ruth of Laughlin, Nevada and Steven (Tricia) Ruth of Freeland, Michigan; grandchildren, Riley, Wesley, and Samuel Ruth all of Freeland; two sisters, Jerri Sue Wilson and Vicki Franklin-King; and numerous friends. Sandy is happily reunited with her husband, Walter J. Ruth, Jr.; parents, John and Lillian (Greenup) Pedigo; and two brothers, John Pedigo and Robert Pedigo.
At the request of Sandra and her family, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Private family inurnment will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Snow Funeral Home, www.snowfuneralhome.net
