Our beloved father, grandfather, and brother, Sami George Al-Sahouri, passed away with his family by his side in the morning hours of Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Brian’s House in Essexville, Michigan. Age 89 years. Sami was born on March 25, 1934 in Amman, Jordan to the late George Nicola and Rose (Isaac) Al-Sahouri. On October 16, 1960, Sami married the love of his life, Nayfeh Sawalha, and she preceded him in death on November 30, 2019. Sami was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Flint.

Surviving are his three sons, Raed and Samira Alsahouri of Saginaw, Rami and Alison Alsahouri of Saginaw, and Ramiz and Heyam Alashouri of Saginaw; five grandchildren, Sami, Celena (Tony), Sandra, Hibah and Samantha; two brothers, Samir (Mary) Isaac and Fadeel (Somaih) Isaac; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sami is happily reunited with his wife, Nayfeh Sawalha; and siblings, Nicola, Emil, Suáad, Georgette.

The Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 4970 Mackinaw Road in Saginaw. Fr. Timothy Cook will officiate. Immediately following Mass, family and friends will travel in procession to St. Andrew Cemetery for Committal Prayers and Interment. Friends may visit at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church where the family will be present on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A Trisagion Service will be performed Monday evening at 7:45 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Brian’s House.
