Ruth Joyce Rider,
Saginaw, Michigan.
Loving, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023 at her home with her family at her side. Age 85 years. Daughter of the late Edward and Laurie (Jolly) Harmon, Ruth was born June 28, 1937 in Denver Colorado. She served proudly in the U.S. Navy. Ruth was married to Cecil R. Rider on March 9, 1957. He predeceased her March 8, 2007. Ruth was a model and the first female auto technician in the U.S. Navy. Ruth enjoyed her family and lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving to cherish her memory are one daughter, Joni and Frank Broekhof, Saginaw; eight grandchildren, Chris, Ashley, Patrick, Summer, Samuel, Brian, Brittany and David; eight great-grandchildren, Kailie, Logan, Kaia, Kennedy, Lincoln, Gibson, Declan and Arlo; great-great granddaughter, Avanni; several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Robin Hahn; and two sisters and five brothers.
