Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Edgewood Assisted Living. Age 83 years. The daughter of the late Vito and Emma (Prezzato) Ciaramitaro, Rosemary was born on July 2, 1937 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Peter Alfano on August 8, 1980. He survives her. Rosemary was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #4232 Ladies Auxiliary. For many years Rosemary and Pete held a rosary group at their home. Rosemary and Pete traveled throughout the United States and loved to visit Conyers, Georgia monthly for almost five years. She was an amazing cook and Sunday dinners with family and her famous cannoli will be greatly missed. Rosemary’s glowing smile will always be remembered.


Surviving besides her husband Pete are six children, Theresa (Don) Riedlinger, Saginaw; Joe Cherry, Merrill; John (Colleen) Alfano, Shields; Elizabeth Alfano, Omaha, Nebraska; Kathleen Alfano, Saginaw; Mallary (Jason) Carroll, Austin, Texas; 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jennie (David) Schultz, Torch Lake, Michigan; a sister-in-law, Mary Kay Ciaramitaro; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack (Beverly) Alfano, Joseph (Sherry) Alfano and Dorothy Alfano; close friend, Carol Kelly. Rosemary was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Ciaramitaro; her brother-in-law, Nicholas Alfano and sister-in-law, Amelia “Millie” Ehrhardt.


Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Alfano’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
