Robert M. ”Bob” Card

Saginaw, Michigan.

Beloved husband, father, and papa passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 19, 2021 surrounded by his family. Age 82 years. The son of the late Alexander and Caroline (Ziembo) Card, Robert was born October 13, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Josette L. Raths, his loving wife of 59 years, on September 2, 1961. She survives him. Bob was raised on a farm and had a passion for farming. He was employed by IBEW #557 retiring in 1997 after 33 years of service. Bob was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #4232. He was a Trustee on the Kochville Township Board. Bob enjoyed gardening, taking rides and especially loved his family.

Surviving besides his wife Josette are one daughter and three sons, Philip and Lynne Card, Bloomington, Indiana; John and Annette Card, Freeland; Brian and Jennifer Card, Saginaw; Anita and Jim Markel, St. Charles; 10 grandchildren, Alexandra Card, Nickolas Card, Jacob Card, Adam Card, Andrew Card, Julia Card, Elizabeth Card, Christopher Markel, Erica Markel and Michael Markel; two sisters and two brothers, Alexander and Betty Card Jr., Saginaw; Elizabeth and Jim Avram, Twining; Theresa and Larry Burdick, Mt. Pleasant; Patrick Card, Twining; a sister-in-law, Barb Card, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Card and three brothers, Ken, Jim and Charles Card.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Road in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak and Rev. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate. Honoring Mr. Card’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
