Obituary for Rita J. Demko

Rita J. Demko
Saginaw Twp., Michigan
Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Rita J. Demko passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Rita was born to Anna and Joseph Kostrzewa on September 3, 1926. Known as a kind, compassionate lady, she always found the best in every person. A woman of great faith, she loved her Lord and her family was her life. On July 12, 1947, Rita was united in marriage to Alfred Demko. She and Al were blessed with two children, Tim and Jeanie, and were to celebrate 74 years as husband and wife this summer.
Rita was a hard-working woman. Starting at the Temple Theater as a ticket taker in her teens, she then moved on to sales at Sally’s Dress Shop. Early in her married life Rita worked at Lufkin Rule. She later joined her family at B&K Corporation, retiring from there as Office Manager in her 60’s. Finding retirement a little too slow paced, Rita returned to work at Wright K Technology as Human Resources and Benefits Manager (Corporate Mom) and worked for another 20 years.

Rita leaves behind her loving husband Al, daughter and son-in-law Jeanie and Mark Cardinal, granddaughter Meagan and Brad Valley and their children Peyton Moore and Ethan Valley, grandson Kyle and Yoshiko Demko and their children Joseph and Leanna and grandson Evan and Megan Demko and their children Rusty and Mackinaw, her brother, Joe Kostrzewa and wife Inez, several sisters and brothers in-law, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Anna, her son, Timothy, sister, Joan and brothers, Raymond, Val, Dan and Andy.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
