Obituary for Richard Wade

Richard L. Wade

Beloved son, brother and uncle passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Age 62 years. The son of Jean (Whelton) Wade and the late Jack R. Wade, Richard was born March 11, 1959 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was gifted and talented in computers, often building computers and repairing them. Rich was a member of the National Federation of the Blind and Christ the Good Shepherd Parish. He was involved with Newsreel (a spoken word monthly publication). He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his joking manner and his love of family and friends. Even with his blindness, he could see and appreciate the beauty of life.

Surviving besides his mother Jean are one sister and one brother, Cheryl Wade, Midland; David and Michelle Wade, Bay City; two nieces, Amanda (J.D.) Darland, Brownsburg, Indiana; Courtney (Eric) Hugo, Auburn; great-nephews, Aiden, Dylan, Owen and Jaxon; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Rich was preceded in death by his father, Jack Wade.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Helen Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at St. Helen Catholic Church where the family will be present on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, the limitations of number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed.
