Richard M. Maturen
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at HealthSource Saginaw. Age 75 years. The son of the late Albert and Harriet (DeForest) Maturen, Rick was born August 7, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Judy K. Trumble, his loving wife of nearly 55 years, on June 11, 1966. She survives him. He was employed at Bell Engineering and retired from Cignys (formally Shear Tool) following over 25 years of service. Rick was President of the Saginaw Tool & Die Association and through that organization he helped to bring light to skilled trades within the younger generations. He enjoyed playing golf in his older years but touch football at Hoyt Park and Fastpitch Softball was his love in his younger years. He was the first basemen on the 1979 World Championship team; The Saginaw Bolters. He was inducted into the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame as well as the MASA Hall of Fame.
Surviving besides his wife Judy are two sons, three daughters, Matthew and wife Shawn Loachridge, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Rachele Leonard, Saginaw; Erica and Michael Nixon, Ringold, Georgia; Martyn Maturen, Ringold, Georgia; Natalie Maturen, Charlotte, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Alexander, Bailey, Marleigh, Bryce, Taylor and Ryan; a sister, Donna and Bob Frick; several nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister as well as his parents, Al Maturen, Sharon DeGrace and Donald Maturen, Albert and Harriet Maturen.
The family would like to thank the staff at Healthsource Saginaw and Covenant Healthcare for Rick’s care for the past two and a half years as well as the many friends and extended family that shared their time with him.
Honoring Mr. Maturen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
