Obituary for Richard L. Hoffman

Richard L. Hoffman,
Frankenmuth, Michigan.

Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare Cooper Campus. Age 83 years. Son of the late Edward and Irene (Dubay) Hoffman, Richard was born July 5, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Mary Zolinski on October 14, 1967, and would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in October. She survives him. Rich was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear for 33 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, a member of Knights of Columbus Council #593, American Legion Post #439, Polish Falcons and the Frankenmuth Conservation Club. Rich enjoyed playing cards, watching Tiger Baseball and conversing with family and friends.

Surviving besides his wife Mary, are his daughter, Julie Hoffman, Frankenmuth; two sisters-in-law, Judy Hoffman and Marilyn Zolinski; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rich was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Edward “Tuck” and Delphine “Dolly” Hoffman , Duane “Porky” Hoffman, Barbara “Cookie” and Dave Wujkowski, and a brother-in-law, Richard Zolinski.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the care staff at Covenant Glen and the staff on the third floor of Covenant HealthCare.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 958 E. Tuscola St., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Patrick Jankowiak will officiate. Burial will take place in Blessed Trinity Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #439. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
