Our loving wife and mother, Rene Marie Wuckert passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 1, 2022 surrounded by her family in Bridgeport Township, Michigan after a long battle with Leukemia. Age 58 years. Rene was born on November 12, 1963 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a 1981 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. On March 21, 1997 in Zilwaukee, Michigan, Rene married the love of her life, Jeffrey T. Wuckert, and he survives her. Rene worked as a Case Worker for the State of Michigan for over nineteen years. It was an honor for Rene to serve as the first female and first Hispanic Volunteer Firefighter for the Zilwaukee Fire Department. She served her community for over ten years. She was a volunteer in multiple aspects in the community. In 2018 she received the Zilwaukee Lions Club Citizens of the Year award. Rene was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church and signed for the deaf for several years and involved in the deaf community. Rene and Jeff enjoyed bowling, long walks, bicycle riding and hiking.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 25 years, Jeffrey T. Wuckert; and two sons, Logan Wuckert; David and Erica Fuentes and a baby girl on the way.
The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Henry Pahlkotter will officiate. Visitation will take place at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. Saginaw, MI 48603 (between Shattuck and McCarty Rds.) on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Zilwaukee Fire Department will have a walk thru 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. At the request of Rene and her family, cremation will take place following services and private family inurnment will be held in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the Wuckert Family. Please share condolences and memories with the family at snowfuneralhome.net
