Beloved husband, father, grandfather passed away in the late morning hours of Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Toni and Trish House in Williams Township, Michigan. Age 89 years. The son of the late Philip and Margaret (Alexander) Yockey, Phil was born June 14, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #439. Phil was previously married to Joan Weitz. Phil later married Sally Willett on October 1, 1988, and she preceded him in death on October 23, 2021. He was employed at Egloff Real Estate as a broker for 40 years until his retirement in 2005. Phil was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and going to the casino.
Left to cherish his memories are three children, Phil and Brenda Yockey, Saginaw; Linda and Dan Beck, Saginaw; and Steven and Laura Yockey, Saginaw; two step-children, Dennis Seeley, Traverse City; Victoria and Jeff Wenzel, Saginaw; son-in-law, Mark Walworth, Eaton, OH; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Katherine Bauer; a sister-in-law, Patricia Yockey; several nieces and nephews. Phil was preceded in death by his wife, Sally; daughter, Marsie Walworth; three sisters and one brother, Margaret (Dale) Sage, Carol (Charles) Petrache, Loretta (Dale) Gage and James Yockey, and brother-in-law, Roger Bauer.
Honoring Mr. Yockey’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, in Saginaw; Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Visitation will take place at church, only, on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Immediately following Mass, family and friends will travel in procession to St. Andrew Cemetery for Committal Prayers, Military Honors, and Inurnment. Military Honors will be performed under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps. and the American Legion Post #439. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Holy Spirit Catholic Church” or the “Toni and Trish House”.
