Obituary for Paul Gordon Curry

Beloved husband, father, son, brother and foster parent passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021, age 54 years. Son of Richard and Paulette (Cormier) Curry, Paul was born December 12, 1966 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a 1985 graduate of Douglas McArthur High School where he played hockey with his dad as a coach and brother as a teammate. He then graduated from Alma College in 1989. Paul later received his Master’s Degree in Missions from Regent University in 1993. He had a love for sports, and later in life Paul played on the Old Golds Baseball team in Saginaw with his son, father, brother and brother-in-law. He married Melanie “Melody” Montelo on August 18, 1990. She survives him. Paul was employed by Endurance Carbide in Bridgeport, Consumers Energy, Carrollton Public Schools as a substitute teacher , para-pro, and instructor at Omni Adult Education, and was recently self-employed doing home restoration. He was a faithful member and attender of New Life Saginaw where he served as a prayer partner, Sunday school teacher, and Celebrate Recovery leader. Paul was a mentor with The Power of Dad. Paul’s love for Jesus Christ was very contagious, and he had the heart of a missionary. His love for the kids in the neighborhood was larger than life. He especially enjoyed inner- city youth mentoring. Paul’s heart for the community was even larger than his smile, and his love for his wife and children made him glow.
Surviving besides his wife Melody are two sons and two daughters, Joel Curry, Micah (Mitchell) Arner, Julia Curry, and Adam Curry; his parents, Richard and Paulette Curry; one brother and two sisters, Christine (Kip) Schmidt, Patrick (Jennifer) Curry, Nicole (Thomas) Tesch; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Theresa (Kenneth) Chamberlain and their daughter, Yvette (Donald) Syed; many nieces and nephews.
Honoring Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place in mid-May. Please share memories and condolences with the family at snowfuneralhome.net.
