Piziks, Paul Christopher
Royal Oak, Michigan Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan
Paul Christopher Piziks was born June 27, 1970 to Waldis (Wally) Piziks and Margaret (Penny) Beitz (née Drake) in Saginaw, Michigan. The family soon moved to Wheeler, Michigan, and Paul grew up in a rural setting, raising horses, cows, and poultry. Later, they moved back to Saginaw. Paul graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1988. He earned a Bachelor's degree from the Detroit Center for Creative Studies and immediately found work as an advertising copywriter.
Over his long career, Paul worked for several companies in nearly every aspect of advertising, including graphic design, filming and directing commercials, pioneering the use of video ads online, and even designing booths for the North American International Auto Show. In his spare time, Paul was an avid painter who specialized in portraits, animals, and historic houses.
Paul was known for his outside-the-box creativity and his sharp, sardonic sense of humor. He became a regular performer and finally a headliner at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle in Royal Oak and also performed at other comedy clubs around the Midwest. He was well-known for his ability to pull of pranks in public places that sometimes involved hundreds of people.
A large part of Paul's life was the outdoors. Motorcycle, snowmobile, hiking, swimming, camping—he was never happier than when he was exploring somewhere new, and he was an expert at finding stunning places in his beloved Michigan.
He is survived by his mother Margaret Beitz, brother Steven Piziks, and sister Bethany Piziks; by his children Caleb Kuzara and Brie Kuzara; by his grandson Cody Kuzara; by his fiancee, high school sweetheart, and longtime love Rebecca Longlet and her children Samuel, Julian, and Ruby Longlet; and by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
