Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away suddenly, Sunday, March 27, 2022. Age 80 years. Daughter of the late Frederick and Eleanore (McNeil) Pike, Patty was born May 6, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to LeRoy Mahaffy on December 4, 1965. He predeceased her January 4, 1999. Patty was a medical assistant at several local doctors’ offices. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She was president and a member of Fleet Reserve Association and participated in the Can-America Games for many years. Patty enjoyed sewing, embroidering, genealogy and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving to cherish her memory are four sons, Michael (Sheri) Mahaffy, California; Thomas (Kathy) Mahaffy, Saginaw; Howard Mahaffy, Saginaw; Dennis Mahaffy, Saginaw; six grandchildren, Michael Mahaffy, Greg (Amanda) Mahaffy, Krystal (Logan) McCauley, D.J. Mahaffy, Ashley Mahaffy, Sean Mahaffy; five great-grandchildren, Irene Savage, Theo Savage, Natalie Savage, Kevin Mahaffy and Noah Mahaffy; her sister, Barbara Smith, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Betty Collison.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Alberto Vargas will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church, where the family will be present on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
