Obituary for Patrice A. (Roe) Gilbert

Patrice Anne (Roe) Gilbert
Freeland, Michigan

Loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother (nonnie) and friend passed away unexpectedly after a sudden and brief journey with cancer on November 9th, at her home with her family by her side. Age 59 years. Daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Jane (Licavoli) Roe, Patrice was born March 14, 1963, nine minutes ahead of her twin (womb mate) Michael in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a 1981 graduate of St. Peter and Paul Area High School. She went on to earn her Business Degree and started her career with EF Hutton. Her passion with coaching others to help achieve their financial goals led her to start her own business, Patrice Gilbert Financial Services in Thomas Township, Michigan. Her clients loved her as much as she loved them. In her childhood she acquired the name Queenie and she lived up to this name until her death always turning heads when she entered a room.

Patrice married David Gilbert, in June 2005 and enjoyed the many years they had together. She is his “Sunshine” and he survives her. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish in Saginaw. Her favorite activities were spending time with family and friends, her trips to her happy place in Charlevoix, Michigan and their Bonita Springs, FL home. She and Dave were always the gracious hosts for many family gatherings.

Surviving besides her husband Dave are her beautiful children Nathan Ray (Taylor) Myers and Morgan Paige (Zack O’Keefe) Myers and their father, Jeffery Myers. Patrice leaves her twin, Michael (Terri) Roe, Jennifer (Beth) Roe-Lazzaro and Matthew Roe. She also leaves a special nephew Anthony Lazzaro.

Also surviving are her stepchildren: Mari Goodman, David (Mindy) Gilbert Jr. and Becky (Tim) Benzenberg along with seven grandchildren; Dave’s siblings Linda Kress, Steve Gilbert, and Bill Gilbert. Patrice surrounded herself with a circle of special friends which included many from her elementary and high school years. They are left with countless stories!

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her mother-in-law Meme Gilbert, her sister-in-law Barbara Gessel and Uncle Joseph Licavoli, Uncle Lynn (Skid) Roe and brother-in-law Mike
Kress.

Patrice will be remembered for her integrity, ability to have fun and her talent - her words that everyone who was able to be a part in her life, whether small or large, will attest to.

Visitation will take place at Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty) on Saturday November 12, 2022 from 11:00 am until 2:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service officiated by Rev Fr. John R.
