Obituary

Morris Riser Stoddard IV

Beloved husband, father, son, grandson, nephew, uncle, and friend passed away on March 13, 2021 with his family by his side at the University of Michigan Hospital following a short battle with Leukemia. Age 32 years old, Morris was from Birch Run, MI, formerly Bridgeport. Morris was born in Saginaw, MI on February 17, 1989 son of Denise Matthews-Eaves, and Morris Stoddard III. On October 18, 2014 Morris married his high school sweetheart, soul mate, and best friend Stacie Rhyan. Morris was employed by Alta equipment where he was a fork lift road technician for many years.

Adventurous, courageous, trust worthy, ambitious, compassionate, and stand up family man are just a few words to describe the kind of man Morris was. Morris graduated from Bridgeport High School in 2007. While in school Morris played offensive left tackle, and defensive right tackle number 79, for the Bridgeport High School football team, where he had some of the best times. Morris enjoyed helping others, and was always just a phone call away. Some of the best times Morris had were while sitting in the garage having a beer and working on cars with great friends. Morris was an avid outdoors man enjoying hunting, camping, kayaking, riding his KX 500 and his “Cade”(Motorcycle). Morris enjoyed going to Krystal motor speedway to watch dirt racing and especially loved watching sprint cars. Morris had a heart of gold and loved his family especially his wife, mother, and daughters more than anything. Morris was a go with the flow, happy wife, happy life kind of man, that had a smile that could brighten any room.

Surviving him are: his wife Stacie Stoddard, Parents: Denise Matthews-Eaves (Jim), Morris Stoddard III(Melody Gunlock), Daughters: Peyton, and Mckenna, Sisters: Angie and Melissa Stoddard. Grandparents: Don and Susan Matthews, Yvonne Rhyan, and Chuck Rigda, Mother in Law: Cindy Weigold, Sister in Law: Heather Morris, Nephews: Braxton, and Michael. Many Aunts and Uncles including special aunt and uncle Kelly and Austin Smith, many cousins, and so many friends including ones very special to him Mark Bieszke, Tiffany and Matt Martin, Ray Larkin, and Nick Vargas. Preceding Morris in Death were his Grandparents: Adella and Morris Stoddard II, Grandmother: Sandy Rigda, and Father in Law: Ron Weigold.

Per Morris's wishes in lieu of a funeral, a celebration of life party will be held at Albee TWP Hall, 10645 East Road, on April 30, 2021 at 5:00 P.M. All are welcome to come and share a memory with friends and family.
