Mollie D. Feriend,
Saginaw, Michigan.
Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 at New Hope Valley. Age 88 years. Daughter of the late Fredrick and Elizabeth Jean (Magee) Hammond, Mollie was born May 30, 1934 in North Berwick, Maine. She was married to William A. Feriend on February 16, 1957. He predeceased her October 18, 2017. Mollie was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Carrollton, served many years on the Carrollton Athletic Association and volunteered at many positions at the Carrollton Township Offices. Mollie enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and most of all spending summers at her summer home at Wilson Lake, Acton, Maine.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two daughters and one son, Carol (Steve) Weiss, Las Vegas, Nevada; Lynn (Mark) Jarrett, St. Johns; William F. (Lorri) Feriend, Saginaw; nine grandchildren, Rachel, Stacie, Steven, Adam, Molly, Kelsi, William, James and Isaac; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty LaGuire, Flint; many nieces and nephews. Mollie was preceded in death by a sister, Judie Durgin. A special thank you to the staff at New Hope Valley and Cardinal Hospice for their care and compassion given.
Honoring Mrs. Feriend’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Mollie’s Life will take place next summer at her lakefront camp. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Cardinal Hospice.
