Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper Campus. Age 72 years. The son of the late Milton and Marilyn (Marsh) Thomas, Mike was born on October 4, 1948 in Saginaw, Michigan. Mike served in the United States Navy from 1968 until 1970.
He married Dawn M. Theil on May 14, 1999. She survives him. Mike was a long time independent Life Insurance Agent and Financial Advisor and thoroughly enjoyed helping people enjoy their retirement life. He enjoyed wintering in Florida and walking on the beach. Mike was the “big fish in the little pond” and was well known at many places including Treasure Island and Holly’s Landing. He was a devoted Catholic and was an integral part in the formation of the Saginaw Latin Mass Association. Mike absolutely loved his family, especially his grandchildren and was beyond passionate about Lion’s Football.

Surviving besides his wife Dawn are three children, Megan (Bill) Miner, Saginaw; Steven (Elizabeth) Theil, Taylor, Michigan; Chris (Paola) Theil, Lake Balboa, California; 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Madelynne, Matthew, Andrew, Caitlynn, Alex, Bella, Nick, Liam and Landon; his brother-in-law, Glen Drouin, Allen Park; several nieces and nephews; best friends, Randy Gremel, Dr. Jim Lathrop and Dr. Risty Kalivas. Mike was preceded in death by his three siblings, Susan, Deborah and Gary.

Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave. Rev. Fr. David Jenuwine will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy and V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
