Beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. Age 50 years. The daughter of Donna (Hale) Leedke and the late James Leedke, Melissa was born on November 29, 1970. She was a 1989 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. She married Thomas B. Goodell, Jr. on May 3, 1997. He predeceased her on May 2, 2019. Melissa was a Legal Secretary in Saginaw for more than 20 years. She enjoyed attending Haley and Hannah’s sporting events, fishing, going to the casino but her favorite pastime was traveling the Upper Peninsula. Melissa will long be remembered for her sense of humor, love of animals, and her generous and caring heart.
Surviving are two daughters, Haley Goodell and Hannah (Kyle Bennett) Goodell; her granddaughter, Stella Burton Bennett; her mother, Donna Leedke; her sisters, Kimberly Leedke, Beth (Joe) Baker and Kristin (Ray) Ogden; Jim and Victoria Goodell; many nieces and nephews.
Honoring Melissa’s wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral Service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at St. Dominic Parish – SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan Ave. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Amazing Grace Animal Rescue or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.
