Obituary for Maxine D. Conley

Maxine D. Conley,
Carrollton, Michigan.

Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Edgewood Assisted Living. Age 90 years. Daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Gniotezynski) Kluck, Maxine was born June 2, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to James Conley on July 7, 1951 at St. John Baptist Catholic Church. He predeceased her July 23, 2011. Maxine was the manager at Miller’s Bakery for 20 years and enjoyed the early morning customers with coffee and donuts. She was a member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church, it’s parish council, the Rosary Altar Society and League of Catholic Women. Maxine will be remembered as a women who cherished her family and friends. She loved to bake pies, cakes, cookies and breads. She took great pride in making craft decorations for family and friends. Maxine enjoyed attending sporting events at Heritage High School and Coldwater High School supporting her son and grandchildren. Maxine loved to take car rides with her husband and to travel. She was able to take a dream vacation to Ireland with her entire family. She enjoyed singing and dancing with the tunes from her jukebox with all of her grandkids.

Surviving to cherish her memory are one son Timothy J. (Lori) Conley, Saginaw; a son-in-law, John Petzko, Coldwater, Michigan; three granddaughters, Jennifer Petzko, Okemos, Michigan; Megan (Trevor) Petzko- Sweet, Okemos, Michigan ; Katlin R. Conley and her fiancé Lucas Drapp, Memphis, Tennessee; one grandson, Eric J. (Lynn) Conley, Saginaw; seven great-grandchildren, Bryn, Grace, Hadley, Maeve, Ben, William and Annie; several nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her daughter, Maureen Petzko; two sisters, Adeline Fahnenstiel and Beatrice Kluck and three brothers, Jerome, Glen and Lester Kluck. The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living Center and the Cardinal Hospice Group for the wonderful, kind and compassionate care given throughout her stay.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
