Loving wife and mother passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at Covenant HealthCare Harrison. Age 60 years. Daughter of the late Otto and Helen (Hagerty) Nigl, MaryKay was born January 24, 1961 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Terry Metiva on June 21, 1986. He survives her. MaryKay was a teacher for the Saginaw Public School System and a member of the Michigan Education Association. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church. MaryKay loved traveling, cooking and reading.
Surviving besides her husband Terry are two sons, Jimmy Metiva and Johnny Metiva, both of Saginaw; three brothers, Dr. Bill and Connie Nigl, Mt. Clemens; Tom and Kathy Nigl, Sacramento, California; Joe and Mary Nigl, Zilwaukee; several nieces and nephews. MaryKay was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Nigl and Bob Nigl.
Honoring Mrs. Metiva’s wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 2711 Mackinaw, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th St., Suite 609, New York, New York, 10036.
