Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, May 14, 2021. Age 74 years. The daughter of the late E. Stanton and Rita (Borey) Card, Mary Jo was born on February 2, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married W. Raymond McInerney on July 8, 1967. He survives her. She worked at Valley OB/GYN for many years. Mary Jo was a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where over the years volunteered in many capacities including, washing altar linens, counting money and playing in the bell choir. She enjoyed knitting and gardening and was a member of the Women’s National Farm and Garden Association –Saginaw Branch. She enjoyed family vacations on Clam Lake for over 40 years. Mary Jo lived her life by always finding the beauty in everything and everyone. She greeted everyone with a smile and a hug.


Surviving besides her husband Ray are two children, Jeffrey Allen McInerney, Pooler, Georgia; Jenny Marie (Ken) Eisbrenner, Chesterfield; her grandchildren, Rachel, Courtney, Nolan and Delaney McInerney; her siblings, William (Pat) Card, Midland; Elaine (Mike) Churchill, Sequim, Washington; Steven (Mary) Card, Waterford; Christopher (Geri) Card, Wintergarden, Florida; Paul (Marian) Card, Midland; Martha (Ken) Kramer, Saginaw and Margaret (Dave) Kenel, Freeland; many nieces and nephews. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Card-Zielinski.


Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate with interment to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Women’s National Farm and Garden Association –Saginaw Branch, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or a Charity of your choice.
