Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, Mark R. Mathewson, passed away in the afternoon hours of Friday, October 14, 2022 at HealthSource in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 82 years. Mark was born on July 6, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan to late Buhl and Margaret (Switalski) Mathewson.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, June R. (Junemann) Mathewson; four sons, Mark Jr. (Debbie), Scott, Lance, and Ladd; grandson, Adam; two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Kaden; four step-grandsons, Arnold brothers: Bob, Chuck, Jon, Adam, and their families; and nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Fisk and Janet Mathewson.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at St. John Paul II Parish -St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Rd. Saginaw, MI 48604. Celebrating will be Rev. Fr. Richard John. Family and friends may gather at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Private Family Rite of Committal and Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “St. John Paul II Parish”.
