Passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Woodland Assisted Living in Manistique, Michigan. Age 98 years. Margaret L. Waier was born August 20, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Joseph J. Konieczka on September 6, 1947. He predeceased her on April 5, 1995. Margaret worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company and was a homemaker and loving mother. She was a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Saginaw, St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brighton and member of the Council of Catholic Women, and League of Catholic Women. She was a volunteer to numerous parish organizations at both St. Thomas and St. Pat’s. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and playing cards.
Margaret is survived by her son, Joseph J. Konieczka Jr. (Wendy Sabo), Manistique; and grandson, Joseph J. Konieczka III, Oklahoma. Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, Angeline Strable.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 375 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday evening, September 27, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
