Loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and matriarch passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Crowley, Texas surrounded by her family. Age 78 years. The daughter of the late Cresencio and Isidora (Govea) Hernandez, Lena was born on May 7, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas. She married Herman Garcia Sr. on January 3, 1963. He survives her. Magdalena was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish-St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She loved sewing, crocheting and doing ceramics. Magdalena was a former employment staffer at Tri City Ser.

Surviving besides her husband Herman Garcia Sr. are two daughters, Kristina (Gilberto Jr) Gonzalez and Monica (Christopher) Trammell; her grandchildren, Herman Garcia III, Jennifer Garcia, Rueben Garcia, Alex Garcia, Andrew Garcia, Adrianna Nathan, Elena Aguilar, Melissa Medrano, Emiliano Medrano, Selena Garcia and Austin Trammell; many great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn; her siblings, Fred (Barb) Hernandez, Cresencio (Mary) Hernandez, Mary (Lupe) Silvas, Consuelo (Lupe) Ramirez and Rosa Luna; many nieces and nephews. Magdalena was preceded in death by her son, Herman Garcia Jr., her grandson, Gilberto Gonzalez III; her siblings, Candelario Hernandez, Janie Gonzalez and Guadalupe Flores.

Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. Alberto Vargas will officiate with interment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family will pray the Rosary at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Francis of Assisi – St. Anthony of Padua Building Fund.
