Obituary for Lorraine “Lori” (Rooker) Koblinski

Lorraine “Lori” (Rooker) Koblinski

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lorraine was born on February 13, 1932, to her late parents, Harry and Hilda (Konsdorf) Rooker. She graduated from St. Andrew’s High School with the class of the half-century, 1950. Lorraine married Daniel Koblinski on July 17, 1954, after he returned home from serving in the U.S. Army. They would spend over 68 years together traveling and having their family. She had many different jobs during her working years, all of them as an administrative assistant. Lorraine retired from Bierlein Demolition Co. in 1994. She traveled with her husband Daniel on winter trips to St. Augustine, Florida, which was her favorite vacation spot. Lorraine was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She did volunteer work at St. Josaphat’s School while her children grew up. She also volunteered at Covenant Cooper for several years in the Messenger Department. Lorraine was a volunteer with the Saginaires Drum and Bugle Corps. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus #4232 Ladies Auxiliary and the Senior Club. In 1963, she started a 500 Club with nine neighborhood women when they lived in Carrollton. During her lifetime, Lorraine enjoyed bowling, golf, travel, bingo, casino bus trips, collecting dolls, and playing cards with her friends. She especially enjoyed her lunches with her grandchildren. Also, she loved her get-togethers with her family and friends.

Surviving besides her husband Daniel are one son and two daughters: Brian (Barbara) Koblinski, Ludington; Deborah (David) Schneider, Saginaw; Suzanne (John) Buckley, Portage; six grandchildren, Daniel (Megan) and Steven (Erin) Koblinski; Jason and Natalie (Skylar) Schneider; Jacob and Megan Buckley; one sister-in-law, Joan (James) Wressell; several nephews and nieces, and many dear friends. Besides her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband’s parents, Leo and Mary Koblinski; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Ray Santhany; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Sally Rooker; a brother Donald Rooker; and her stepfather, Edward Bodrie.

Lorraine’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Toni & Trish House for their loving and compassionate care.
