Beloved and devoted wife, mother, Nana/Mia, daughter, and sister passed on Friday, May 12, 2023 due to complications from a short illness. The daughter of Nancy (Maurer) Mazure and the late Virgil Mazure, Lisa was born on October 2, 1961 in Bad Axe, Michigan. She spent several years of her childhood in the greater Detroit area and the balance of her life in Bad Axe. She graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1979. She married Martin Polega on May 8, 1982. He survives her. She enjoyed traveling to national parks, going on ca$ino bus trips, and collecting trinkets and shot glasses from the various states she visited.

Surviving are her husband Martin and their three children, Kaleena Hampton, Grand Rapids; Martin (Jennifer) Polega II, Louisville, Kentucky and Kayla (Brian Jr.) Allossery, Sterling Heights; her five grandchildren and little buddies, Hunter Allossery (10), Calvin Polega (10), Everett Hampton (9), Micah Polega (8), and Bo Allossery (8); her brother Rodney (Lori) Mazure and sister, Erin Mazure; mother-in-law, Frances Polega; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marj (Clare) Wehner, Ken Toner, Donny Schramski, Joe Gawronski, Gary Polega, Greg (Debbie) Polega, Terry (Sue) Polega, Diane (Eric) Emming, and Kevin Polega. She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Mazure, father-in-law, Felix Polega, sisters-in-law Dort Schramski and Sue Toner, and brothers-in-law Richard, Fred, and Randy Polega.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at St. Hubert Parish- Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 311 Whitelam St. Rev. Fr. T.J. Fleming will officiate. Honoring Lisa’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the Kaufman Funeral Home, 84 Westland Drive, Bad Axe, where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Heart Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. in Saginaw, Michigan.
