Obituary for Linda Sule

Linda Sule
Hemlock, Michigan

Linda Ann Sule has passed on to rest peacefully in Heaven. She will be truly missed by her family, large circle of friends and neighbors, and community. She bravely fought an extended illness and used that time to give extra love, kisses and hugs, along with words of wisdom to her friends and family. Many fond memories of travel, hikes, walks in the sunshine, crafts, and just quiet time together will not be forgotten.

Her career in the Hemlock Public Schools included teaching hundreds of young minds to learn to read as a Reading Aide. She also worked in the middle and elementary school libraries, where she helped students to develop a LOVE of reading; even arranging for repeat appearances of Viola Swamp! Linda’s green thumb was displayed in several ways: her love for orchids bloomed over the years to award-winning displays and flowers as well as continued involvement in the Saginaw Orchid Society. The greenhouse that Rick built for her houses many orchids and different types of “fussy” plants who thrived from her meticulous care. Her garden was featured in a local Garden Tour and she was able to share her knowledge and creative ideas with others.

Linda married her lifelong partner, Richard A. Sule on October 8, 1976, after meeting on a blind date that was arranged by family. It was love at first meeting. Their wedding song was, “We’ve Only Just Begun,” which was a fitting tribute to years of devotion to one another. Together, they raised two terrific (but humble) children, Katie and Kevin. Her love of reading was passed on to them, as well as a sense of independence and strong moral compass. Her grandchildren Isla, Oliver, and Ellis adored her! She leaves behind daughter-in-law Mira, and son-in-law David, both loved dearly and treated as close family. Her family will forever remember that she treated them with love, kindness, and devotion, always.

Linda’s family wishes to thank an overwhelming amount of people for the cards, the calls, the visits, and copious amounts of delicious meals. Those acts of kindness helped Linda and the family oh-so-much. The family also appreciates the love from fellow members of St. John XXIII Catholic Church of Hemlock, Nurse Jesecca and MidMichigan Hospice, and the overflowing physical, emotional, and spiritual help from friends and family as well as time with caregivers.

Honoring Mrs. Sule’s wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 151 St Mary’s Drive, Hemlock. Rev. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will present on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
