Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Linda E. (Fournier) Bennett, passed away with her family by her side in the early afternoon hours of Thursday, June 9, 2022 at her residence in Carrollton Township, Michigan. Age 66 years. Linda was born on September 2, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Russell and Edith (Merlone) Fournier. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School; graduating top of her class. Following high school, Linda furthered her education by attending Northern Michigan University. On June 21, 1975 in Royal Oak, Michigan Linda married the love of her life, Weston J. Bennett, and he survives her. For many years Linda worked as a Pharmacy Technician; beginning at Arbor Drugs and finishing her career at Covenant Healthcare. One of Linda’s favorite pastimes was gardening around her home; during the winter months she would plan her planting for the upcoming spring. Birds chirping, squirrels playing and bunnies hopping around the yard brought Linda an abundance of joy; it was the simple things in life that meant the most. Her husband, Weston, will forever cherish the memories made road tripping with Linda; especially trips to the Upper Peninsula and Niagara Falls. Whether it be cooking or baking for family or friends or volunteering at the Carrollton Elementary School; Linda was always helping others or doing kind tasks for them. At one point during her lifetime she decorated and baked cakes professionally. With Linda’s numerous joys in life, nothing brought her more happiness than the time and memories she was able to share with her family.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of almost 47 years, Weston J. Bennett; son, Gregory Bennett; siblings, Robert Fournier, Jean McDonald, and Rosemary (Eric) Stamann; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Craig (Diana) Bennett; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and fur-babies, Wilbur and Chessie. Linda is happily reunited with her parents, Russell and Edith (Merlone) Fournier; brother, Jerry Fournier; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Lillian Bennett; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sally Fournier and Dale McDonald.
At the request of Linda and her family, cremation has taken place and Memorial Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. Saginaw, MI 48603 (between McCarty and Shattuck Rds.). A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Officiating will be Tori Little. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Snow Funeral Home, www.snowfuneralhome.net
