Lanny E. Roenicke

Lanny Edward Roenicke went to be his Lord and Savior on Good Friday, April 7, 2023 at the age of 79. Beloved father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and nephew, Lanny was the son of the late Franklin E. and Ann (Stadnika) Roenicke, Lanny was born on May 7, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan. His parents raised him in the Christian Faith and Lanny loved and gave his life to Jesus. He owned and operated Lanny’s Second Hand Store for over 50 years and was a hard worker until the very end. Lanny always stood by his family and friends and built them up the very best he could. He loved the dinners his family and friends brought him. Lanny gained much of his wisdom from reading the Word of God, the Bible, and he experienced the love and mercy of our Father in Heaven. He also loved and quoted Benjamin Franklin. His true passion in life was music. He played the piano, trumpet, bass guitar and floor bass. Lanny was a founding member of “The Bossmen Band” together with his great friends, Pete Woodman, Dick Wagner and Warren Keith. He also enjoyed drawing. Lanny also loved and deeply respected all of his friends and customers who he loved to make laugh and treat like family. His whole family he loved and who loved him back will miss him dearly.
Surviving are one daughter, Christina (Roenicke) Launstein and her companion, Dr. Cristian Boboc, Midland; his triplet grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob and Brianna who brought joy and happiness into his heart; his brother, Gary (Marlene) Roenicke; sister-in-law, Marie Roenicke; his aunt, Jeanie Beam; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lanny was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Bud Roenicke and Bill Roenicke; his sister-in-law, June Roenicke.
Honoring Lanny’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his life will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Keith Williams will officiate. Friends may gather at the funeral home where the family will be present on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
