Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Monday, April 3, 2023. Age 87 years. The son of the late Adelbert and Lois (Knickerbocker) Tobias, Ken was born September 10, 1935 in Akron, Michigan. He married Kathy Mae Collins on February 11, 1956. She predeceased him on January 12, 2015. He was employed at William Holden Company for 11 years. Ken’s banking career lasted 31 years at Second National Bank (Citizens Bank) where he retired in 1997 as Assistant Vice President as a commercial loan officer. He was a member of the Carrollton Jaycee’s, the Carrollton Fire Department, Carrollton Athletic Association, trustee and treasurer of the Carrollton Township Board, Saginaw Police Department Reserves, past president of the Northwest Kiwanis Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Junior Achievement. Ken kept the time clock and scoreboard at Carrollton High School football games for over 30 years. He was a volunteer at Carrollton Elementary School, Covenant Hospital and was a foster parent.

Surviving are three sons, three daughters and their spouses, Jeffrey and Becky Tobias, Saginaw; Cindi and Steve Feldt, Saginaw; Lisa and Jim Newman, Little Rock, Arkansas; Lorri and Bill Feriend, Saginaw; Michael Tobias, Saginaw; Christopher Tobias, Fishers, Indiana; 14 grandchildren, Zachary, Katie, Betsy, Ryan (Sarah), Kendra (Michael), Kelsi, William, Jordan (Robert), Logan (Amanda), Haylee (Nathon), Hayden, Zeke, Bryce, Mia; 15great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Griffin, Grant, Ivy, Simon, Brayden, Peyton, Liam, Mason, Colter, Ellie, Rosie, Nora, Finn and Lando; one sister, Ethel Cramer, Caro; several nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Lee Tobias, and by one brother and one sister, Sidney Tobias and Geraldine Jaynes.

Funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate. Honoring Ken’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Carrollton Elementary Schools Christmas Wish Program.
