Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Hoyt Nursing Home and Rehab Center. Age 85 years. The daughter of the late Joseph and Flossie (Van Brunt) Rousseau, Josie was born on November 14, 1937 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married LeRoy Fritz on August 4, 1956. He predeceased her on May 2, 2009. She began working at the age of 16 at the former Fordney Hotel in downtown Saginaw. She then was employed as a Nursing Assistant at Community Hospital. Loving to draw, she always aspired to be a courtroom sketch artist. She enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and dancing.
Surviving are two children, Diane (Alan) Timm, Saginaw Twp.; LeRoy “Butch” Fritz, Jr., Saginaw; two grandsons, Aric Timm and Matthew Timm; four great-grandchildren, Connor, Emery, Areiel, Rhiatt; one sister and one brother, Yvonne Gibbon and Emil (Diana) Rousseau; many nieces and nephews; longtime family friend, Wade Spraggs; her canine companion, Cuddles.
Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 Noon on Monday, April 24, 2023 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Pastor Ken MacGillivray will officiate with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Amazing Grace Animal Rescue.
