Obituary for Joseph Samuel Licavoli

Beloved father and grandfather passed away on Wednesday January 13, 2021 at Covenant Healthcare surrounded by his family. Age 85 years. The son of the late Samuel Licavoli and Lena (Prezzato) Licavoli. Joe was born July 21, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan. Surviving are two children, Mary Jo Polzin (Robert) and Joseph (Jenifer) Licavoli. Grandchildren John (Holly) Polzin, Ashley (Kyle) Ash, Whitney (Courtney) Polzin, Courtney (Jordan) Licavoli, Jacob Polzin, Beth Polzin, seven great grandchildren, his grand pups, his life long friend Elma Licavoli, and many nieces and nephews.

Joe worked for the city of Saginaw for over 30 years. He served in the army where he was fortunate to play his love of baseball overseas in Germany. Joe loved fishing, going to casinos, taking car rides to northern Michigan, and giving excessive amounts of treats to his grand pups. He was a devoted Catholic. He will be remembered most by his sense of humor and his stories. He loved every minute spending time with his family. They meant everything to him.

Joe was preceded in death by his sister Mary Jane (Raymond) Roe and his partner of 25 years Jackie Bohl.

Funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Honoring Mr. Licavoli’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In accordance with mandates from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the limitations on number gathered, mask wearing and social distancing will be observed. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Castle Museum or Covenant Health Care Kids.
