Obituary for Joseph A. Nowaczyk

Joseph A. Nowaczyk
Carrollton Twp., Michigan

Our loved uncle, great uncle, brother and son peacefully passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Bickford Saginaw Township. He was 93 years old. Joe was born on March 3, 1929 to the late Michael and Amelia (Grai) Nowaczyk. He proudly served our country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. Joe graduated from Arthur Hill Tech in 1946. He briefly worked for several small machine shops as a pattern maker for General Motors before becoming self-employed. In 1955, he, along with his two late brothers, Cyril and Valerian Nowaczyk founded Carrollton Plumbing and Heating Supply Incorporated. In 2000, the business was dissolved. Joseph enjoyed going to the auctions and estate sales. He loved the socializing in these events. He also enjoyed Monday hamburger night at the Knights of Columbus and Mexican nights on Wednesday at the V.F.W. in Carrollton Township. Joe had very kind, generous spirit. He was very supporting of Right to Life. Joe also always gave generously to many religious groups, including several nun denominations and priest organizations.

Surviving to cherish his memory are three nieces and two nephews, Dr. Bonnie J. (Don) Nowaczyk, Freeland; Michael Nowaczyk, Prudenville; Stanley Nowaczyk, Houghton Lake; Cathy (Patrick) Schubert, Carrollton Township; Valerie Nowaczyk, Saginaw. He also leaves behind several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The Nowaczyk family wishes to thank the staff at Bickford for their care and kindness to him. We also thank his hospice team, Care Team. They all helped to make his final days as peaceful and as comfortable as possible.

Respecting Joseph’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Right to Life of Michigan or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
