Beloved husband, father and son passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his home. Age 53 years. Son of Robert and Paula (Daniels) Mathis, John was born December 3, 1969 in Plattsburg, New York. He married Stacy Hadaway on September 23, 2019. She survives him. John enjoyed camping, disc golf, the outdoors, his animals and especially his family.
Surviving besides his wife Stacy are one daughter, Jadyn Mathis; one step-daughter, Elise Hadaway; two step-sons, Alexander Imker and Noah Hadaway; his father, Robert and Lynne Mathis; his mother, Paula Mathis; two step-brothers, Mark (Tamara) Drake, David (Suzelle) Drake; a special friend, Patricia Smith; and his canine companion, Odin.
Honoring Mr. Mathis’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12:00 noon Saturday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family.
