Devoted father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the Woodland Hospice Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Age 67 years. The son of the late Floyd and Sybil Hollingsworth, John was born on October 30, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan. John shared his birthday with his father. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting. In his younger years, he spent a lot of time on the golf course and became a good golfer. The best out of all the Hollingsworth family he would claim, as well as the best poker player. (So he claims)
John leaves to cherish his memory one son, Dillon Hollingsworth and his fiancée, Lizz; his step-son, Zachary and April Leonard; his grandson, Royce Hollingsworth; his step-granddaughter, Ashlyn; one sister and five brothers, Ann Schluckbier, Reese; Floyd and Susan Hollingsworth, Freeland; Bill Hollingsworth, Lovells; Mike Hollingsworth, Saginaw; Tom and Diane Hollingsworth, Saginaw; Jeff and Kim Hollingsworth, Etowah, Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. John was preceded in death by his son, Joel Hollingsworth and by his sister, Jane Rose.
Honoring John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his life will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. John R. Johnson will officiate. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
