Obituary for John Ezop

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Edgewood Assisted Living. Age 89 years. The son of the late John K. and Wanda (Cherry) Ezop, John was born April 13, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Rita Marie Nowicki, his loving wife of 58 years, on October 13, 1962. She survives him. John was employed as an engineer at Saginaw Steering Gear for 25 years until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Frankenmuth and Knights of Columbus Council #7233. John was active with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America and had volunteered for the Michigan Blood Bank for 10 years. He enjoyed gardening, sports and traveling.

Surviving besides his wife Rita are one daughter, one son and their spouses, Amy and George Misca, Chicago; Nicholas Ezop and Tracy Behm, Mokena, Illinois; three grandchildren, Gabriella Misca, Bradley and Marc Ezop; several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Wanda Ezop, O.P., Franklin D. Ezop, Ronald A. Ezop and Alexandra Tasler.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 12:00 noon Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Frankenmuth. Rev. Fr. Patrick Jankowiak will officiate with burial in Blessed Trinity Cemetery. Friends may visit at Blessed Trinity Church where the family will be present on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Blessed Trinity Catholic Church of Frankenmuth.
