Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Brookdale Memory Care. Age 88 years. Daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Stachowiak) Koblinski, Joan was born May 4, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a 1952 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Joan was married to James D. Wressell, her loving husband of 67 years, on April 16, 1955. He survives her. Joan was employed at Michigan Bell when her children were young and the office of J.C. Penny until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of St. John Paul II Parish-St. Josaphat Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the neighborhood card club with the same ladies for over 50 years. Joan enjoyed gardening, traveling, going to the casino and especially spending time at Higgins Lake.

Surviving besides her husband James are two daughters and two sons, Karen and Robert Holton, Saginaw; David and Kelli Wressell, Clarkston; Dan Wressell, Saginaw; Carolyn and Mike Smith, Saginaw; five grandchildren, Katie and Josh Carter, Rob and Ally Holton, Daniel Wressell, Addison Wressell, Aaron Smith; three great-grandchildren, Madalyne, Andrew and Adam Carter; her brother, Daniel Koblinski, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Lorraine Koblinski and her best friend, Regina Humpert.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at St. John Paul II Parish-St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The St. John Paul II Rosary Altar Society will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to American Hospice.
